censored words

If I choose Censor words in the censor words list?: the text fields in the profiles will not appear. THis is V3. It did not have this problem in v2. I do not allow people to put things like "Yahoo" and so on in their profiles or in IM.

I have not used censored words before...

are you saying the entire text field is blank if they use a censored word?

if so I will look into this matter for version 3 and compare with the old version 2

Please verify this is the exact issue before I test it...

Yes, that's correct, the entire text field is blank. At first I thought maybe I had made some change in the last day or so that caused this....but i hadn't. I went back and unticked the option and sure enough the text fields appeared again.

As usual the support from WebScribble is a step below useless - it's a waste of time.

If you go in and tell me it works for you ---- well I'll have to eat some dirt or something for insulting webscribble.

Mutton,

I added a word to test the system

when I added yahoo

it only removed the word yahoo and replaced with ****** the rest of the text field was displayed...

if you pm me your ftp I could have a look at why your site is acting differently... also would need your smartway access

I figured out why your word censor was not working

the system replaces the censored words with *

you had the character * inside some of your censored words which was causing the error

I took out the censored phrases you had that contained * in them

and all is good now your censor is back on and working... be carefull when using special characters in the censor words because they can cause bugs of this type... using all text words is your best bet

I spent almost an hour on this...

anyway now we know
