Database issues

Postby jubiso on Sat Apr 26, 2008 11:07 am

Hi guys,

I just moved my site to a new server and all of a sudden my database is way too slow. Actually, queries like "Members who viewed you", "Members who IMed you" etc. take so long that I received an email from my host to check my script. I wonder what might be causing this?

Jubiso,

Once your database becomes large in webdate you will need to make sure that it is indexed properly.

There is a script that can be run that will index your database tables.

after indexing your database you will see a great increase in query speeds.

if you need the file that indexes the database send me a PM

if you are having database issues and have not run the indexing script yet

download this file

upload to your home directory

and open it in your browser

this is for version 3.0

I believe it also indexes version 2.0

after uploading open it

RUN THIS FILE ONLY ONCE AND DELETE WHEN DONE! IMPORTANT!
