currently with webscribble's hosting (very dissatisfied). I want to make the switch to godaddy or another. anyone have thoughts or concerns i should be aware of when making a hosting change?

Specifically does changing a host affect my search rankings? Or how bots find me?

Also anyone have thoughts on another host? I only know the main advertised ones ie godaddy etc.

if you are looking for a shared server I could not recommend any

but if you are looking for a dedicated I would recommend Hostway

You rankings will not be affected by your host as long as your site is not going down and not allowing the bots to index your site when they arive

if your site has down time this could affect your rankings other than that the host does not affect your ranking

Oh yeah......I had Webscribble host my site too for awhile.......only because I didn't know any better. Many months of being totally pissed off because my site was down, I lost my members due to the database getting reset, un-answered support tickets, they never answer their phones......etc. Oh, I feel your pain! I got smart one day and did some serious google searching for other hosting companies. The 2 I listed below are companies I have first hand experience with. Hosting isn't gonna get any cheaper than these guys. The customer support of both companies listed below is almost as "Top Notch" as Paul is for us when we need help. On a scale of 1- 10, I give both of these companies a 10.

I've been with this company for awhile now and I never had any down time.

Extremely Cheap for alot of hosted space. A+ Customer Service Support. This hosting company puts the brothers at Webscribble to shame!!!!

Theres even a Free Hosting company I would recommend that would put the Webscribble brothers to total shame..............

..........and they have A+ Customer Support too......they don't support SSL Certs.........
