Hi Everyone,

I've been receiving a lot of complaints from members about the Instant Chat (Instant Messenger) functionality. Since it works with popups members have to have allowed popups from my site in order to receive instant messages. If they block the popups from my site in error (which is quite possible) then they never receive instant messages. So, has anyone figured a solution? I have messages (tips) on my site, on a few pages, letting members know that they have to enable popups, but still, complaints are flying in.

Another issue with the IM is that in order to receive the popup (the instant message) a member has to refresh the page (or move to another page of the site). Only then the popup appears. If a member stays on the same page (if he/she reads something for example), then they will not receive the popup message until they refresh or move on. This is a problem too, since the person who sent the message, might give up waiting fro response. Well?

Does anyone know an instant chat script similar to the one on Facebook? I mean, you have a bar at the bottom of the page, which contains information about the online users and the instant chat as well. Quite nicely done.

I am actually talking about the IM, not the chat. Sorry if I confused you.
