Problem with Posting Ads in Web Classifieds

Postby hospitalityads on Sat Mar 15, 2008 4:56 am

Hi there

I have a website called
http://www.hospitalityads.com.au

I have many different modules there and use Web Scribble products for all the modules.

I use Web Classifieds for the following modules;
- Businesses for Sale
- Equipment for Sale
- Suppliers
- Training

When I first has the site set up I got Web Scribble to do some custom work for me. Because I am based in Australia, I needed to use an Australian Payment Gateway to accept credit card payments into an Australian Bank Account. I chose a company called EWay. I paid Web Scribble to set up the gateway between their products and EWay. It seemed to work fine at the time (even though they took forever to do it.)

Now I am having trouble Posting Ads....

And I have no idea whether it is a problem with Web Classifieds itself. Or whether it has been stuffed up becuase of the payment gateway they have built for me.

I have 2 problems.....

Problem 1
Sometimes I go in as a User and Post an Ad. I select Pay by Credit Card but the next screen that comes up is
"Congratulations. Your ad has been successfully transmitted" even though I haven't been asked to pay for the ad at al.
When I look in "My Ads" the ad shows up as Pending not Active.
When I look at the Ad in "Smartway" it shows up as Pending, as though I have to approve it, even though I have set the system to Auto Approve all ads.

If I "approve" it, then it goes to Active, even though it has never been paid for (Great for business probitability!)

Problem 2
Just to keep things interesting, I sometimes have a differnt problem (and bear in mind that this is all inthe same module).

I Post an Ad and am prompted to pay for it. I pay for it with my own Credit Card and the payment goes through successfully.
However, when I go to "My Ads" it shows as Pending and not Active.
I have even gone into "My Account" and paid for it AGAIN but it still shows at Pending.

When I check the ad in Smartway, it shows as "Payment Pending" even though it has been paid for.

So there you go. Any ideas????

The even weirder thing is that everything works fine in one of the Modules (Businesses for Sale) but not the other 3.

I have been trying to get WebScribble to fix this for month with no only no result but no feedback at all.

Any help would be much appreciated (even moral support would be welcome as I am pulling my hair out over this)

Best wishes to all

Megan,

Sounds like you may have some issues in the code or in the database settings... but because one of your areas seems to be working find... I could use this to compare and see what is set up differently that is causing the errors in the other modules...

I could take a look at the code and see what is happening differently in the areas with problems...

send me a private message with ftp info on your site...

Hi there Paul

I am so delighted that you have managed to fix this problem for me. The integration to my EWay payment gateway is now working perfectly for all those modules that use Web Classifieds.

After months of trying (unsucessfully) to get Web Scribble to fix it, I had just about given up hope of ever getting my website up and running.

But now it is all done thanks to you and I am ready to move forward.

Thanks a million Paul - I appreciate your help so much.
