Hi,

What's the quickest way to re-install a site and connect it to an existing database?

I messed up the templates on a 3.0.1 site so want to re-install with the original files. The database is intact so I don't want to replace it. I've uploaded all the files, but the install process shows errors when it tries to create the tables (because they already exist) so I can't get passed the database creation screen,

if you only messed up your templates you could have simply overwrote your templates folder with the original folder.

but it seems you have uploaded the entire site again.

you would need to go into your phpmyadmin area

you need to export the database to a gzip

then you need to empty the database

let the install script run on the new empty database

then you can go into phpmyadmin and import the backup you made using export... if you need further details on this let me know
