About 5 weeks ago our installation of WebDate 3.0.1 stopped working.

The entire site went to a blank white screen. Since we had not changed anything, we contacted the web hosting co for support and they were able to partly restore the site.

It does not appear to be connecting to the database. I have in fact deleted the database and the site displays the same.

We tried a completely fresh install and the installation script connected to the database to create the tables, but afterwards the application does not connect to the database.

I have run phpinfo() - http://datenyla.com/phpinfo.php - we have PHP 5.2.5 with safe_mode off and Zend Optimizer 3.3.3 and MySQL 5.0.51a

We are sure there is a problem with the server configuration but have been unable to resolve it.

If we cannot resolve the issue in the present setup, we may need to transfer the domain to a different hosting company - I just want to make sure it will be likely to work on a system that meets the requirements.

If there are any problems running WebDate 3.0.1 on PHP 5.25 or MySQL 5.0.51a please advise us.

I check the site above you mentioned and looks like it's up. It has the blue wedate theme correct? Checked your smartway entrance and it works too.

It "looks" like it's up but that is how the site would display if I even deleted the database!

Notice the missing gender in the quick search and other missing dropdowns on the register page.

They are usually populated from the db but it's not connecting.

The smartway admin allows login but does not display any member info, also populated from the database!

I think it is a misconfiguration of the server in PHP and/or MySQL that is why I supplied the phpinfo() link in the first post!

We did not change anything, the site just started acting this way, we have tried a fresh install and still no good!

My site constantly had problems like this until I switched servers. Before it was down 3 or more times a week, typically for several hours because of the bad service at my previous host. Since it was moved almost 5 months ago it has not been down once.

You need to turn errors on so you can see what database connection problem is actually occurring.

it is obviously a database connection issue.

but what has been changed at your server?

send me ftp along with cpanel / or plesk access for phpmyadmin (send me a private message)
